Gabriel's First Day of Kindergarten was today. Our school district has 1/2 day Kindergarten and he goes in the afternoon. When I first got the letter, I was pretty disappointed. But today, we had all morning to get ready, we had some lunch, walked down to the bus stop and waited and waited for the school bus. It eventually came, about 15 minutes late, but he is now at school. No, I did not cry. Daddy came home from work to see him.
Here he is in front of the house (please excuse the weeds-next week's project).
On the way to the bus stop.
Getting on the bus.
The final wave.
So here at sit, Lily is in for her afternoon nap and I wonder how much I can accomplish in the next couple of hours. How long do you think Lily will sleep? So far, I made myself a nice lunch, cleaned up the kitchen, picked up all the toys in the living room and played ball with the dog. (she is already liking this couple hours of free time thing.) So much to my original disappointment, I think this afternoon Kindergarten thing is going to work out just fine. No crazy hurry in the AM, time for mommy to wake up have some coffee and for everyone to get ready. Then a couple of hours to myself while Lily naps, yup I think it will be just fine. OK, on to the next thing...just imagine the things I can do!!!!

OMG I can not belive he is OLD enough for school already..where did those years go???
even though I am a morning person I LOVED afternoon KDG...especially with little one at home...
So how much did you get done on that first day of school???oh well there is always tomorrow...enjoy this time amy..in a blink Lily will be in school

...and I'm wondering how my grandchildren have grown so fast. I always like morning kindergarten because it made me get up and do something. Enjoy each experience...they are all precious.
