Winners and NEW CHA QuicKutz Product
WARNING-My internet at my home has been working on and off for several weeks. So if I haven't posted something when I should or haven't responded to an email you sent, it is likely because I can't get on the internet. Right now it is working, so here a post.
The winners from the giveaway were Libby A. for the Winter Shapes and Angie A. for the Polar Bear. Angie already got her die at club meeting last night. Thanks for all who commented! It was nice to read everyone's goals. We'll have to have an goal progress post in a few months to see how we are all doing.
OK, so CHA just happened and QuicKutz has some amazing things coming out. My favorite are by far the new embossing folders. They are now making the folders out of a new plastic material which is allowing them to be way less expensive then they used to be! That is great news, right? But what is even more exciting are the new sizes. They now have A2 (or invitation) size embossing folders for the front of your standard size card. I LOVE this! It has been a huge whole in their product line for such a long time and we finally have embossing for cards! They also have some 12" border embossing folders which I think will be great too! Here are some pictures of the designs. Once I share those and you ooohhh and aaahhh for a few minutes, I will share the price and you will be amazed!

Finally I am sharing another layout I did while at the crop over the weekend.
OK, no comments on how old the paper is! I used the Nutmeg Cookie Cutter font on this layout. It really is one of my favorites. Everytime I use it I say to myself. I don't know why I don't use this more often!
Finally, to answer my own question. My 2009 scrapbook goals are to create at least 20 pages for each of the kids books. Create a legacy type book about my philosophies and things I want to pass on to my kids. Start an all about me book. And create a least 3 mini albums for my family. Good goals, right?
New Post, New Project, NEW Year!
I know it has been months! I am happy to report that we had a sucessful holiday season at the Kinnon household. The last two months have been busy with creating several handmade gifts (believe it or not, they were knit and sewn, not scrapbooked), finishing construction in our new family room and orgazining and purging a ton of stuff that I brought home from the store. I am happy to report that I can now walk into my scrapbook area! Not only is it walkable, but I even know where everything is (well almost everything). My table is clean and clear and I even created a few things on it.
First thing to share are the make-n-takes at our January QuicKutz Club meeting next Monday and Tuesday. We are working on Valentine's stuff. We will be creating two treat holders and two cards. Here are the two treat holders and one of the cards. (Still putting the finishing touches on the last one!)
On the card I used 4x8 Chemistry alphabet, the hearts border die and the scallop border die. The sour cream holder uses the flower nesting shape, basic phrases cookie cutter and the love basic shapes. The other treat holder uses the 4x4 die REV-0083.
So in addition to getting organized at my house, I was also able to go to a weekend crop this past weekend. I was very productive with 12x12 layouts. Lily officially has a scrapbook! (About time huh?) I just have to tell you how much I used my QuicKutz this weekend. I really did use it on all the layouts I created but one or two. Mostly the border dies and the fonts, but I did sneak a shape or two in there too!
Here is the one layout I created that I will share today.
On this layout I used the scallop border die, Chocolate 4x8 Alphabet and the heart from the basic shapes.
On a more personal note, can you believe how little Lily looks here. 1 day old. Well Lily is officially 10 months old now. She is clapping her hands, moving around and her latest milestone is standing up all by herself in her crib. Walking, I'm afraid, is not far behind! Here is a picture I took of her last week. I can't believe she stil has those BRIGHT BLUE Eyes!
